Ok, I just shared links to this. I am not a historian. I am a retired teacher who is trying to seek the truth and find her voice. I am not well versed in most of these troubling happenings, but I am a teacher. How can I find like-minded teachers that want to make sure the truth of what is happening in Oklahoma and my own state of Arizona, as well as other states gets out to the public?
Hi, Linda, I really like your phrase "trying to seek the truth and find her voice." That's pretty much where I am. It's not been long ago since I thought "biblical worldview" meant loving your neighbor, being kind, walking humbly, welcoming the stranger. But no. So it's been a steep learning curve these past months. I share info, as you do, in my sphere of life, donate, and keep an eye out for new paths. Not sure yet how to go forward, but just wanted to get this off to you to let you know you're not alone. (BTW, I do subscribe to organizations like Christians against Christian Nationalism and Faithful America; also grassroots activists like Jess Craven and a growing list of trustworthy commentators. Maybe someone already has a list of that can connect up people interested in various fields of endeavor?)
I would love a book list for those of us who want to dive in deeper on any of these episodes. (Similar to a “show notes” resources from a podcast.) Would that be something the group is open to providing?
Related question: it looks like “The Search for Christian America” is out of print, is there another resource in the same vein still available?
True admonitions. I didn't sound like any of you had either, at least not in its entirety. Am I wrong?
I don't blame you. Still, now with Vance's appointment as Vice President, it seems like somebody ought to have a thorough knowledge of what is being criticized and why...
I am glad you made this video podcast. Please keep up the good work. People of all persuasions need to know and have a chance to understand and resist this kind of sneaky fascist “Christian” agenda. Jesus would be angry and you explain why. Thank you.
I am a public school administrator, twenty years deep, who was homeschooled in the 80s and 90s. I grew up in this fake history, and it takes a long time to unlearn. I am very, very thankful that you are drawing attention to this issue. I'm exhausted by the demonization of public school teachers, most of whom are incredibly committed to their students, and at least in my experience in the south, most teachers are Christian.
I’m trying not to be discouraged. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I don’t want this but I need this in order to do what I can to help my children and grandchildren.
Re. "government schools": These comments bring back memories. I still have the Christian Reconstructionist books that I acquired back in the 1980s. One of them was a series, called Biblical Blueprints Series, published by Dominion Press in the mid-80s, with Gary North as general editor (and author of at least one of the volumes). I know I have all the volumes somewhere, but only four were visible on my bookshelf. I remember that if one puts them all on a bookshelf in publication order, the collected spines display a color map of the world.
One of them is titled "Who Owns the Family: God or the State?," by Ray Sutton. Another is "The Children Trap: Biblical Principles for Education," by Robert Thoburn. I don't know if the phrase "government schools" originates with one of the books in this series, or one of its authors (like Thoburn), but it wouldn't surprise me.
Re. evangelical/corporate collaboration: I hate the corporate takeover of our lives. I even wish corporations couldn't buy naming rights to sports venues. I have less problem when the venue is named for the entity that funded the construction, but arbitrary naming rights have given us nonsense names like Guaranteed Rate Field (Where the Chicago White Sox play) and Quicken Loans Arena (where the Cleveland Cavaliers play). I'm sure there are even more ridiculous names out there, especially in the minor leagues.
Diana's comment about Standard Oil funding west-coast evangelical ventures in the 1920s made me realize for the first time that the more recent effort of evangelicals to pressure politicians to appoint anti-abortion judges, which also gave us pro-unbridled-capitalism judges as well, was not an aberration. I thought that was only an unintended side effect, and occasionally I tried to point out, to people who favored the "pro-life" effort for judicial appointments, that the emphasis on putting "pro-life" judges on the bench was also giving us judges who were throwing out our rights as citizens in favor of corporate dominance. And I had even read Kevin Kruse's "One Nation Under God" too and still didn't realize that the more recent connection was deliberate and has been going on for some time. Wow, and how tragic for "the rest of us."

True confessions. I have not read Project 2025.

Subscribe to Andra Watkins’ Substack. She has broken P2025 down into easy to read parts. Strongly recommended.

Roberts presents himself as a historian.
Nice job guys! Diana your intro blurb was superb! Steve Deace was hugely influential on a few guys in our last church - with disastrous results.
Thanks. Jemar wrote the intro blurb today. Want to make sure he gets credit!
