I worry about the four of you especially the three of you and honestly keep you in my prayers because you are speaking the truth. Truth is something that Trump does not understand. Each of you is courageous. Be safe.

Trumps billionaire buddy (Leiendecker) bought dominion voting system last year. Trump fired the last people on the election commission last week.

Enjoyed not watching the speech but listening to your commentary. The speech was just as had been predicted. Same old. Showed desperation

Appreciate your commentary. Very discouraging.

this Canadian could not bear the thought of watching Trump's speech. I am glad to be part of this convocation instead.

Thanks to all of you for doing this, I'm so glad you did. A good time was had by all and you were the perfect, hospitable distractions we all needed. I hope we can do that again sometime.

I've said it before and will say it again. The combination of so much destruction of our country and democracy means the only way we will get out of this mess is to have a New American Revolution to remove Mad King George and his crime family from their seats of power.

Consider:

1. All of North America is being consumed by wildfires, but every government website has been scrubbed of the words climate change. Meanwhile FEMA is becoming slower and less effective in responding to natural disasters.

2. The best military leaders and Jag officers are removed from office. The majority were black or female.

3. Attempts to erase history are happening daily. Some judges are pushing back, but the wins are minor compared to the losses.

4. Trump has fired the non-partisan election commission.

5. Trump's sons own a substantial interest in defense contractors that are getting no bid contracts to build more missiles and drones.

6. An illegal war continues to rage and it is now overlooked by Congress. Meanwhile Trump's sons are getting rich off their shares in defense contractors.

7. Trump is trying to get some sort of cryptocurrency as the primary exchange for everyone in the United States. Since his re-election, he's made roughly $2.2 billion from his cryptocurrency investments.

8. Trump is now selling banks and other institutions his middle of the night posts so they can more quickly buy and sell stocks in the middle of the night to cash in on his chaotic policies designed to do just that--create wealth for those who are in the know while stabbing the small investor in the back.

9. Trump has sold off mineral rights of millions of acres of national parks and monuments to oil, gas, and mining companies to assist them in further destroying the environment.

10. Recent Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) workforce reductions and budget cuts have significantly affected the USDA’s agricultural inspection programs, with potential consequences for food safety oversight. We now see the cyclosporiasis all over the U.S.

11. Mayor Mamdani vowed to fight a new policy from the Trump administration that would give immigration officers the authority to deny green cards for immigrants who’ve used public benefits like Medicaid and housing assistance. The policy could place hundreds of thousands of immigrants under increased scrutiny and could deter them from using such programs, which can be a lifeline for struggling families, officials said.

I could name a dozen more but I grow weary. As a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran I became an expert in spotting ambushes. This is no ambush---it's a frontal assault. The only way to keep our lines from being overrun is with massive firepower.

I pray the needed millions would see that.

No one including the Convocation is looking at the big picture. The dictatorship is making sure our attention gets divided constantly.

Good luck, America. My time is short. I won't be living through the New American Revolution or the much worse Total Subjugation.

This was great. I think one of the hardest parts is in your resistance vs. reconciliation section because those absolute lines of being wrong, sin, irreconcilable, etc. is the very line evangelical culture warriors use to denounce and separate from the left. We draw the line at issues of justice, truth, human dignity, etc. but they draw the same hard lines on LQBTQ persons, abortion, etc. So how do we draw those hard lines without following the same playback as those who have drawn those lines against us?

This article may help address how to draw boundaries without using the same playbook as the Right.

“You can leave without being unloving. You can disengage without losing compassion.

You can still pray for them. Still wish them the best. Even still love them. But you are not obligated to persist with people intent on believing lies.”
