And none of the authoritarian desires that Robbie outlined sound a bit like what Jesus models for His followers. May the Lord have mercy on us all.

Great discussion today. I loved your comments about Bezos. They gave me a much needed laugh. Also great video with Brad Onishi. It'a a must watch for those who haven't watched it yet. Once again, thank you for all the hard work you all have done. There are a lot of us who have really needed this and truly appreciate the time, energy and sheer exhaustion you're experiencing. Winnie is a peach and I look forward to that (hopefully) discussion.

Thanks for your honest discussion amidst. I really resonate & think of Dr. Anthea Butler’s statement in the documentary, “God and Country,” that the nation may be headed to a precipice & unable to stop from going over the edge. During Jan/Feb 2024 after watching it a few times, I didn’t think we’d be facing such great risks of fascism already in Nov! The Convocation Unscripted & each’s substack writings have walked alongside us & helped us to process & prepare. I’m very grateful for all your efforts to promote faith & democracy. I’m thankful for Madam VP Kamala Harris’ & Gov. Tim Walz’ campaigning for unity with democracy amidst. Madam VP Kamala Harris has experience in the Black Church, & I look to the Black Church as our example & Confessing Church.

Have any of my North Carolina Senators/Representatives shown the “courage” to comment on Trump’s death threats toward Liz Cheney?

I was recovering from surgery yesterday and missed the chance to sign up for live session. Are you posting it later? How to get access?

I appreciate enormously all that the members of The Convocation are doing. I wish I could’ve attended one of the sessions on your tour where I could asked a question that’s been plaguing me ever since I heard the phrase “Christian Nationalism”, and that is “What kind of Christian?” I’ve read about the fundamentalist Dominionist/7 Mountains groups that believe they should govern all aspects of life in the US, and more recently about the Catholic Integralists who declare that the Catholic Church is the only true church and that religious pluralism is a sin. I can’t help but wonder if Trump wins the election that the attempts to make the US a Christian nation would result in a religious war, not only with those who don’t agree with these groups, but also between these groups to determine who will end up on top. I also wonder if Trump is pulling a con on the fundamentalists to get their votes because there are 6 Catholics on the Supreme Court, his running mate sounds like an Integralist and, during his term before, he was working with Sec’y of State Pompeo to see how “natural law” could be inserted into US law (as I recall a Washington Post article at that time). I was wondering what thoughts the members of The Convocation might have on what the various groups of Christian Natonalists will do if Trump wins and even if he loses. Thanks.

Great job guys - and thanks for hurting my sleep quality... Maybe we can find some hope in the fact that the majority doesn't want this. Perhaps we'll offer stiffer resistance than the MAGA crowd hopes? Don't obey in advance!! Your all's efforts are very much appreciated.
