Two days after the 2024 presidential election, which resulted in the return to power of Donald Trump, we held our first Convocation Unscripted+LIVE webinar. Jemar hosted this conversation with over 500 participants. We talked about our deep disappointment that a majority of American voters chose to return to power a twice-impeached convicted felon and adjudicated sexual abuser who incited a violent insurrection when he lost the last election. Robby went over the exit poll numbers that showed the steady support of white Christians for Trump: eight in ten white evangelical Protestants, along with six in ten white Catholics and white non-evangelical Protestants. Diana talked about the importance of being prepared to protect what and who we can in the coming years. And Kristin emphasized the importance of grasping the new reality in which we will soon be living, emphasizing the mantra, “Do not obey in advance." And, most importantly, we took thoughtful questions from all the live participants on the webinar, ranging from coping to organizing.

After months of planning, The Convocation Unscripted team has hit the road. And we want to extend a warm welcome to the hundreds of new subscribers who have joined us via these events! We’re glad you’re continuing this journey with us online.
Thank you for this, I've been waiting to hear all of your thoughts. What really hit home for me was Robby's comment about his this is all his 14 year old child has known. I have a teenage daughter and the morning after the election, her first comment about it was "they voted to take my rights away". I can't describe how this broke my heart. It's hard trying to help her make sense of this when I am struggling to make sense of it myself. We all want a better world for our children and this a huge step backwards that will follow them throughout their lifetime.
Thank you all for the work you have done and are doing. I was fortunate to attend the event in Tempe. I don’t have the words yet to express my feelings about the election results. But I am grateful to have you all sharing yours.
